This is a vintage pestal and mortar in excellent condition would look great on a work surface of a modern or farmhouse kitchen.
This is another vintage pestal and mortar. It is very heavy and I believe the wood to be Lignum Vitae which is one of only four very hardwood's which sink in water. It has African style carvings on and is a stunning piece. This unusual pestal and mortar was sold to a lady at Whalley vintage fair for her sister,s birthday. She gave it to her at the fair and her sister came to me to tell me how pleased she was with it. I must say her comments brightened my day!
